One book that I chose to read was 13 Reasons Whyby Jay Asher. I noticed how popular the show was and I figured I should read the book before I watch the show. I got really intrigued with this book. It was 288 pages and I read it in about a week and a half. I learned lots of life lessons while reading. I am going to challenge myself to read more books like this, books that do way more then just tell a story.
13 Reasons why is a book about a girl named Hannah. She commits suicide and she records 13 cassette tapes explaining 13 different reasons why she made this decision. She was affected with many things like rumors, sexual abuse, temptations, etc. As I was reading one quote really stood out to me, "You don't know what goes on in anyone's life but your own. And when you mess with one part of a person's life, you're not just messing with that part. Unfortunately you can be that pr…

To start off, I am reading The Memory Keeper's Daughterby Kim Edwards. I am doing well with this book. I am reading it a lot faster than I normally tend to read. I really have enjoyed this book so far. As i continue to read this book, I am going to start trying to read 30 pages a day. This will help me complete my goal, which is to be finished by my next book blog.

Instead of following his orders, the nurse kept the precious baby girl and moves to a new city. She realizes how amazi…

Hello, My name is Madison Veach and I am in 10th grade and in English 2 Pre AP class with Ms. Mayo. When I was little I definitely enjoyed reading a lot more than I do now. As I started going into middle school, I realized that reading is just not my thing. I have always found it really hard for me to sit still and read and even dedicate the time to read. I have a habit of just reading words and not really fully comprehending everything I read.
As I get older, I realize how important it is to read in English classes. My reading goal this year is just to read more books in general. I want to be able to read 15 pages in 20 minutes. I want to teach myself how to comprehend everything I read faster. I do not want to have to read the same page twice anymore. I have also noticed that I am a lot better at doing this when I'm reading a book I really enjoy. Last semester, I read a book called Choker by Elizabeth Woods. I really enj…
